A Tiny House Party in North Carolina
Sarah Mud and I were invited to meet up with Deek Diedrekson of Relaxshacks.com and his motley crew for a tiny house build in North Carolina. Deek's tiny houses feel like the crazy retro robot comic book fort illustrations from his books came to life and ran away to hide in the woods. You can find his books here:

Or check out his youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/relaxshacksDOTcom ) We met some really great folks and got to tour several of the cool Tiny Projects at Steve's little piece of forest. He and his dad started a few years ago building a deck for camping and a composting outhouse and a bunk house so they could just hang out, but then they had to have a couple tree houses and some funky little sheds and suddenly its a village that can host a whole crew for a weekend build party. Meanwhile Dad built a Tiny of his own and got some batteries and solar panels and his current monthly expenses are less than $40. Other fun folk attending included Chris "The Capable Carpenter"  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3eyhVHLqmNYsdUx5w1vGYg  with his really cool mobile workshop and Alex Eaves and his Box Truck Tiny House built out from almost entierely repurposed junk  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwASNKvYdBSkmAMCn_L77gw

We had fun teaching the folks about cob. They scrounge some fun materials, but they buy a lot from the big box stores too so it was great to be able to show them a free and versatile material to build with. We also built a little rocket stove pizza oven to show off at the potluck and Sarah talked about her year living in the treehouse she built. for more like this check out patreon.com\unclemud
